About the workshop

This three-day workshop can help you turn a business idea into a concrete plan. With the help of a facilitator, you’ll get to:

  • Write a business plan.
  • Learn how to create a legal business.
  • Develop a manageable to-do list for your business start-up.
  • Discover tips for finding customers and writing proposals.
  • Boost your sales, marketing, and negotiation skills.

One business day before the workshop, you’ll get an email with instructions on how to log into the course content online. This workshop is delivered entirely in the classroom.

Participant requirements

  • Participants must attend the Entrepreneurial Exploration workshop before attending this advanced workshop.
  • Participants must have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 8 English language skills to attend.
  • Participants must be comfortable using a computer and mouse, and must be able to browse the internet and use Microsoft Word. Computer skills training in available in the Employment Services Directory.
  • Participants must attend the full workshop. If you cannot attend, please withdraw your registration by clicking the 'Cancel Registration' link found in your confirmation email.

Notes

  • We support a fragrance-free environment.
  • You may bring your personal laptop. Venues are WI-FI enabled.
  • Lunch is not provided. Participants are encouraged to bring lunch and a water bottle.
